Tips for Maintaining the Value of Your Home: To PV or not to PV?

Oahu has sunny beautiful weather almost all year long which makes a photovoltaic system a worthwhile investment. Although the upfront costs can be expensive there are federal and state tax credits to make it more affordable. There are also leasing options for those who can't afford the upfront costs. There are special clean energy loans with affordable rates for photovoltaic systems.

With the recent news about saturation levels and you are not sure if you are in these affected areas you can go to HECO's website. If you are considering to purchase a home with a photovoltaic system, ask if the system is owned or is leased. If it is leased you want to know the terms before buying the home. If you are the seller and leasing the system, you should make plans for the new owners to take over the lease or you might still be responsible for the lease payments without the benefit of using the system.
